THANK YOU TO OUR PARENT VOLUNTEERS

We are also very grateful to MRS. DUCKETT (mom of Jenniffer)) and MRS ROBERTS (gran to Daniel and Joshua) who have offered their services on the playground in the mornings. They keep an eye on the children and are on hand to assist any pupil who needs help. They also ensure that parents do not come onto the school grounds but will direct them to the front office if necessary. THANK YOU ladies!

We wish to say thank you once again to the many parents who took text books home to cover for us. We really appreciate it so much, as it has been of great help.

Special thanks must go to MRS KLEINHANS-KRIGE (mother of Philip in Gr 3S and Luc in Gr 5 R), MRS DUCKETT (mother of Jenniffer in Gr 2 I), MRS BUTLER (mother of Cassidy in Gr 4 U and Jarryd in Gr RL), MRS HENDRICKS (mother of Luke in Gr 2G and Keziah in Gr RE) and MRS RASCHKE (mother of Zahira in Gr 1 N).

These ladies have been here at school most days, covering books and dealing with all the practicalities that go with this. We are very grateful to them for all that they do at our school.

IT’S A CRICKET MATCH!

A partnership between Woodbridge Primary School and Milnerton Cricket Club has resulted in a brand new cricket pitch for the school and the opportunity for the cricket club to have access to an extra field for cricket matches on week- ends.

The official opening of the pitch took place on Friday 7 February 2014, at a launch held at the school and attended by members of the Cricket Club and staff from Woodbridge Primary School.Milnerton Cricket Club assisted with the laying of the concrete for a new cricket pitch with the school supplying a new cricket mat.

This partnership has a good spin-off for the cricket teams at the school who, apart from having a lovely pitch on which to play, now also have the chance of getting expert coaching from the club, in addition to net practice. This has been a beneficial match all round. Thanks go to MCC from Woodbridge Primary School for all their wonderful input.

GRADE R PLAY AREA UPGRADE!

We are very excited about the artificial grass that has been laid in the Grade R playground. This is thanks to the sponsorship of SITA, together with other organisations, who are undertaking a project at our school. The main focus of the project is on the technological/IT side and our library is currently being transformed into a library/ IT hub. In addition to this work, SITA also wanted to balance their technological contribution with a more environmental friendly “footprint”; hence the artificial turf for Grade R. The Grade R learners are thoroughly enjoying their new and improved play area.
