LATEST NEWS & EVENTS

THE FOUNDATION PHASE PEAGENT
The Foundation Phase Pageant was held on Friday, 9th May 2014. We had 105 pupils taking part and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves walking on the ramp. We always have outside judges to make the very difficult decision as to who takes the title for the year, as every child is so deserving of being the winner. But this is a competition, after all and so we say
CONGRATULATIONS to:
Sir Woodpecker (Grade RL) : SIYO GWAZA
Lady Woodpecker (Gr RE) : SHYLA CADDIE
Mr Woodie (Gr 1 A) : JOSHUA DAVIDS
Ms Woodie (Gr 2 N) : KELLY MARTIN
LANGUAGE FAIR – ‘We all smile in the same language’
A very big THANK YOU to all the many parents who attended the Language Fair which was held on Monday evening, 2nd June 2014, at the school. Unfortunately, some gremlins got into the sound system but, apart from that, the children did so well and I trust that you enjoyed our presentations! It is all about the children and so it was GREAT to see the hall so full – the pupils really appreciate your support. Well done to all those who took part, to the teachers and other staff members who put in so much effort and especially to Ms. Jappie for co-ordinating the whole programme.
Netball Camp
A Netball Camp was held on Saturday, 10th May 2014 for all our netball girls. Outside coaches came to give our girls some extra, valuable coaching and the day ended with a netball match between the girls and a team of teachers. This match was won by the teachers, proving that they not only can teach but can DO, as well! Thanks to all the girls for their attendance and to the teachers, especially Mrs Groenewald, who put in so much effort to organise this and who gave up their time to be here.
ROADSHOWS
The Lead SA Road Show presented by a team from KFM 94.5 radio station visited our school on Friday, 30th May 2014. We all learned about Lead SA and how we can all make a difference just where we are, and thereby improve our beloved country.
The Grade R-2 pupils enjoyed the Hygiene Road Show that was presented by the makers of Dettol products. They learned about hygiene and cleanliness. Our pupils certainly learn so much during their school day!
Well done, Woodbridge Choir!
Our choir took part in ATKV Applous Choir Competition on Friday, 30th May 2014 and they did very well, walking away with a bronze certificate. Very positive and encouraging comments were made by the adjudicators and we are proud that our choir is going from strength to strength. Well done!
